Clan NMR is officially one year old.
Thanks to everyone who has joined us during this time - We are the ones keeping the Giants online community alive.
The meeting went ahead as planned yesterday; the turnout wasn't as great as we had hoped but there was still enough members there to have a good game.
Puglin and I are in discussion about who the prize will go to and at this point in time it's a close competition! The winner shall be announced as soon as possible.
All the best for the coming year and I hope you all continue to support us as you have done so well this last year. _________________ Nothing ruins a beautiful day like imminent catastrophic ecologial disaster.

The thing was yesterday??.... Next time put the days next to the times.
I thought it was tonight. Don't matter though, I was in the lobby on saturday all night.
Only 2 people showed up, and the game never showed up in the list. |

| Yeah, but my timezone stretched back into the 27th and the calendar said the 28. However, that still doesn't matter, because your game never showed up in the lobby |

Sorry you couldn't make it Dark, I have a theory to that GSA glitch too.... but that's another story.
Anyway, congrats NMR! Thanks to all for a nice time, it's not often that you get a decent game with friends . |

Not a glitch. If you don't have the specific ports open, then the game will never show up in the GSA lobby. _________________ Don't rush me! I get paid by the hour |

| Oh, well I've found that when someone makes a room for the first time, it appears in the lobby, then, if you click the refresh button it disappears, despite the fact the game is still going. |

Yeah. And Falc, you weren't in the GSA lobby when we were, or at least, I couldn't see you in there.
It was a pretty good game, though. Not a bad initiation for Srat, actually. _________________ My soliloquoy is: anthropomorphising antidisestablishmentarianists is as floccinausinihilipilifacational as magnetoencephalography. Except on Sunday.

Thats because the host is only pinging the gsa lobby (through the specified gsa port) on the initial start of the game. Meaning,, you host game, the packet gets sent once instead of a constant ping. This also accurs when your on a LAN and on another computer you host a game then try to look for it on a different comp on the same LAN line, you will only see the first initial start of the game, but not afterwards (spamming the refresh button).
All depnds on the host's port configuration. _________________ Don't rush me! I get paid by the hour |

Generally have a meeting every month or so, me and Puglin have a game now and then too if you want to join in.
With full clan meetings, if we get many more new members from different timezones I'm thinking we may have to have some smaller meetings with other players from the timezone. I don't like this idea but I know that the times aren't practical for many of our members, and expecting them to stay up late/get up early for us isn't reasonable.
Eg. The members that were at the birthday meeting were all Australian - The times were pretty good for all of us and the ping was lower for most.
If we got a few more American members something like that could happen there - and theres already a few Europeans.
Don't bag me for this idea - It just may get to the point where the times are so diverse that even though we have more members, less will be able to turn up. _________________ Nothing ruins a beautiful day like imminent catastrophic ecologial disaster. |

Bah... I see your point... but we don't have enough current players to instigate such a scheme. There's only a few 'mericans, and most of our Europeans have deserted (for those who don't know, we constantly have people losing interest in the clan, but we have a steady flow of new members, too, so it all evens out). Tes and the other Hooglanders can rarely come, because the timing is positively shit for them.
This is wayyy tougher to organise than it seems. Still, we'll get there eventually.
So guys, it's school holidays for me and Gen right now, so does anyone want to have another meeting, say, next saturday at the normal time? _________________ My soliloquoy is: anthropomorphising antidisestablishmentarianists is as floccinausinihilipilifacational as magnetoencephalography. So many awesome place-names... seriously, Nieuwland? Please don't tell me that just means "new land". _________________ My soliloquoy is: anthropomorphising antidisestablishmentarianists is as floccinausinihilipilifacational as magnetoencephalography. Except on Sunday.

Oh dear, lol. No offense, but that doesn't sound very original... where I come from, we have places like Yallingup, Willyabrup, and Bunbury... nobody has got a clue what they mean, lol. _________________ My soliloquoy is: anthropomorphising antidisestablishmentarianists is as floccinausinihilipilifacational as magnetoencephalography. Ok, so there a lot of place names end with -up, and here they end with -land
(In Dutch the Netherlands is called Nederland (which means lowland)). |

... SERIOUSLY?
I rest my case. It just doesn't sound very... inventive, is all. Though it WOULD be useful for geography. The names kinda give you a basic overview of the place. Unlike places around here, like Dunsborough. On the other hand, we DO have Gnomesville, which is literally a tiny town filled with hundreds and hundreds of garden gnomes. People don't even LIVE there. _________________ My soliloquoy is: anthropomorphising antidisestablishmentarianists is as floccinausinihilipilifacational as magnetoencephalography. Except on Sunday.
